Charities

The Philippine Community Fund

This is an amazing Philippines charity helping some of the most destitute women, children, and families in the Philippines (if not the world). The beauty of this organization is it’s holistic approach.  They cover everything from feeding programs for children to creating jobs for mothers. Amazingly they make all of their programs work together in a well balanced approach to lifting people out of poverty and helping them to stand on their own two feet.

Life Project 4 Youth

This Philippine charity takes a bit of a different approach.  Where most charities in the Philippines focus on women and young children this charity focuses on “the lost youth” (ages 14-22 ).  Their goal is to reintegrate these young people back into society through micro-economic initiatives.

As Miss Pre-Teen USA and a Filipina I would like to chose a charity from the Philippines. Can you help?

    • Jade Ayanna Fernandez

Ms. Marcie, I used to volunteer for a PWD community in Davao. After my stint, I’ve maintained communication with the group and I regularly fly to Mindanao just to see them. Fortunately, the mayor of Davao City took donated a piece of land for their housing. While GawadKalinga helped them build their houses. While they now have their own place, they only have a small bakery (donated by Mr. Hilado) as income to support them. They are in a difficult situation right now and are appealing for help. They are in dire need of help, especially in food, which is already getting to be a scarcity for them. Hope you can help.

    Hi,

I am working for Acts of Hope for the Nation Foundation in the Philippines. We are a non-profit organization that aims to bring books and children together by donating high-quality books to public elementary schools. With this, we hope to raise the literacy rates in the country.

We are currently looking for sponsors (corporate and individuals) for the libraries we are building. You can visit us at facebook.com/ahonfoundation or at ahonfoundation.org to know more about our cause.

With $2, 500, one can sponsor an entire public elementary library.

With $1, 163, one can provide brand new ETL Reference books that cover the subject matters of Science, English, Math, Values, and general knowledge, storybooks, and children’s literature novels

With $465, one can provide training and seminar funds for the the librarians of the beneficiary school or provide basic refurbishment materials.

With $233, one can cover the AHON Managerial fee which will be spent to evaluate, inaugurate, and ocular a public school library

We would be grateful if you can connect us to someone who might be interested to help us in our cause.

    Thank you very much!

Hi please help the scholars of KRIS library.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Children from the poorest communities in the Philippines have one ticket out of poverty: their education. However, this one ticket is often out of their reach.

For elementary and high school students enrolled in public schools, that ticket would cost P800 or around $20. This is the cost of their enrollment and school supplies. Many families with several children are not able to afford this amount for their children.

For college students enrolled in various universities, that ticket would cost as little as P4000 or $90 per semester. This is already a huge amount for many Filipino families that earn P50 or $1 a day.

No wonder many Filipinos still continue to be entrapped in poverty.

Our mission is to change this. Our mission is to give that ticket to young Filipinos in the direst situations who are willing to persevere to complete their education.

Help us fulfill this mission by sharing our call for donations for our ongoing scholarship program.
